Lots to report... First off, welcome to the new POGEY Website and We WANT YOU to get involved! Send us your photos. Once a month starting at the end of July we will pick a photo of the month and post it on the webpage. For an example of past photos, click on the PHOTOS section; there are some cool photos from around the world. If your photo is selected, it will be posted on the cover page and you'll get to pick a POGEY PRIZE. More details to come. Send us your You Tube Clips, Art Work etc. All is welcome.
NEW CD & Video
Our new recording "Full Speed Ahead" is ready to ship. To order a copy, go to the MUSIC & MERCH Section. The new songs will be up on iTunes shortly. The CD will be released in Canada under Blue Sapphire/Universal Music and a video shoot will take place this summer. We'll keep you posted on the developments. LIVE Shows POGEY will be in Colorado, Kansas City, Nebraska, Maine, Iowa and many more places this summer. Go to the LIVE SHOWS section for links to the venues and ticket info. POGEY PRODUCTS In July, we will be launching a POGEY PRODUCT line which will be available in the MUSIC & MERCH section. This will include a variety of apparel and accessories. Designs are under way. Updates to follow. POGEY - The Band The group has undergone some changes. Fiddler Colin Grant is doing a solo project which involves mandolin player Darren McMullen as well. We wish them well in their new endeavors and applaud them for their musical contributions. Joining Ray, Jonny, Warren and Zach this summer will be multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Donald MacLennan of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Donald isn't just a stellar fiddler and mandolin player, he can sing and puts on a great show! We are thrilled to have him on board. His first show will be in Colorado on July 9th. Zach Smith (POGEY drummer of 6 years), will pursue other musical avenues in late September; keeping him closer to home in Halifax. We wish him all the best and thank him for his dedication to the group!
April 14, 2010 New dates have been added in Colorado and New Brunswick. See the Live Dates section for details! The new CD will be finished by the end of April. The final touches are being worked on by engineer Scott Ferguson (Ferguson Music Productions). The band will do a photo shoot on April 25th with photographer Chris Smith (FunkFactor), followed by a new website created by Cheryl Smith. (OutFront Productions). The release date is June 1, 2010. Stay tuned for more live updates and the New POGEY PRODUCTS line set for July 2010.
March 23, 2010 POGEY has just returned from an exciting tour though Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut and Ontario. The audiences were energetic and this carried over to the stage. We had a blast! The group performed some material from the up coming CD and originals from previous recordings. April will see POGEY finishing up our studio work and preparing the new marketing materials. Shortly after, rehearsals will begin for the spring/summer tours. More concert dates will be posted soon. In the meantime here is a great fan clip of POGEY at the Shannon Pub in Buffalo. This was a last minute show offered up to the band. It was a sit down house party style show with a small intimate crowd. The song is "What I Want" from our Pool CD. Have a look and see you soon!
